Jute erosion control fabric and blankets are ideal for preventing erosion on moderately steep slopes and channels. The naturally biodegradable fabric is a coarse open mesh of heavy jute yarn that keeps soil in place while still allowing plant material to grow. Approximately 60% of the area is open, allowing water and light to easily pass through. The fabric can absorb approximately five times its weight in water. The fabric will last approximately one to two years.
