Burlap Bags or Hessian Bags

Burlap Bags also called Hessian bags, as it is known outside of the United States, is a natural fabric made from the skin of the jute plant. Burlap is naturally breathable and resistant to moisture, in addition to being very durable. All of these properties make it ideal for storage of products from potatoes, to firewood, fabricated metal parts, pine cones, or sand and gravel. In addition, burlap is 100% biodegradable, environmentally friendly, and harmless to wildlife, making it ideal for projects with ecological concerns.

Fisher Bag Company is the primary distributor for burlap bags in Oregon, Washing, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. Historically burlap was used to store everything from potatoes to fish. These days, with cheaper plastic alternatives, burlap sacks are not being used as frequently. That being said, the plastic alternatives cannot compare to the strength and durability of a burlap bag. We remain committed to stocking a wide inventory of burlap bags as well as being able to print and custom manufacture. We also stock bulk burlap material described in a separate section of our website.
